BRÁNA
Brána is a magical, wild and energetic place on top of a hill at 900 m above sea level, in the heart of Slovakian mountains. Out of a vision of a place where people live in alignment with natural forces, a small retreat centre was born. The name Brána means “the Gate” and it is the ancient name of the location. Over the years several strawbale and clay houses were built. Together with large teepee, the yurt, three smaller wooden cabins, outside kitchen and bathroom they provide the basic facilities for the people living here and for the events. Brána has also been a site for experimenting with and teaching people how to use natural building materials like straw, clay, reed, sheepwool and green roofs. For many years the community of people living in Brána has been exploring and deepening the relationship with the natural world, the elementary beings of the land and with the elements. And through many rituals, ceremonies and Vision Quests they have been sharing their wisdom with visitors.
When you come to Brána, you will not find lavish luxury. But you will find simple natural space, with buildings built slowly with mostly local materials, vegetable garden tended with love, divine silence and bright stars overhead.
